These terms govern your use of Ink & Ladder. By using our website or purchasing our services, you agree to them. We’ve tried to write them in plain English, not legalese.

How ordering works
- You select a service and submit your details via our contact form, consultation, or order form.
- You complete a brief intake questionnaire about your career history and goals.
- You pay in full at the time of order via Stripe.
- We deliver your documents within the timeframe specified for your service (typically 5–7 business days).
- You review and request any included revisions.
- We refine and deliver final files in Word and PDF.
Payment and refunds
Payment is collected in full at the time of order through Stripe. We accept major credit and debit cards.
Refunds: because our work is custom and labor-intensive, we don’t offer refunds once writing has begun. If you change your mind before we’ve started work, contact us and we’ll issue a refund minus any processing fees. If you’re unhappy with the delivered work, please contact us — we’ll work with you to make it right through revisions before considering any refund.
Disputes: please contact us first if you have any payment concerns. Filing a chargeback before contacting us may result in immediate suspension of services.
Revisions
Each service includes a specific number of revision rounds (1 round for Entry-Level and Professional resumes; 2 rounds for Executive; see Services for details). Additional revisions beyond what’s included are available at $25 per round.
A “revision round” is a consolidated set of feedback delivered together. Sending feedback in pieces over time may count as multiple rounds at our discretion.
Intellectual property
Your content: any career history, accomplishments, or background information you share with us remains yours. You’re granting us permission to use this material to create your documents.
Our work product: once you’ve paid in full, you own the final documents we deliver. You can use, modify, and distribute them as you see fit for your own job search.
Our templates: when you purchase a template (standalone or as part of a writing service), you receive a single-user license. You may use it for your own personal career documents but may not resell, redistribute, or share the template files.
Our website and brand: the Ink & Ladder name, logo, design, content on this website, and the writing methodology behind our services remain our property. You may not copy or repurpose these without permission.
Confidentiality
We treat all information you share with us as confidential. We won’t share your career details, employment history, or documents with anyone outside the people directly working on your project, except as described in our Privacy Policy or as required by law.
Your responsibilities
To get the most from our services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, truthful information in your intake questionnaire and any related communications. We craft your documents based on what you tell us, and we’re not liable for any consequences of inaccurate information you provide.
- Respond to our questions and revision requests within a reasonable timeframe. Projects on hold for more than 60 days due to client non-response may be considered complete with revisions waived.
- Not use our services to misrepresent your qualifications. We won’t fabricate credentials, employment history, or accomplishments.
What we don’t promise
We’re great at what we do, but we have to be clear about the limits:
- We don’t guarantee you’ll get a job, an interview, or any specific outcome. Hiring decisions are made by employers based on many factors outside our control.
- We don’t guarantee a specific salary. Compensation varies by industry, location, employer, and negotiation.
- We don’t guarantee your resume will pass every ATS. We optimize for industry-standard ATS systems, but every employer’s setup is different.
What we do promise: thoughtful, custom work; timely delivery; honest feedback; revisions until you’re satisfied (within your service’s revision allotment).
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Ink & Ladder’s total liability for any claim arising from your use of our services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific service in question. We’re not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including lost wages, missed opportunities, or emotional distress — arising from our services.
Newsletter and other communications
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we’ll send you occasional emails with career advice and updates. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying “unsubscribe” to any newsletter email.
We may also email you about your active project, payment receipts, or significant changes to these terms. These transactional emails are not optional while you have an active engagement with us.
Termination
You can stop using our services at any time. We can also discontinue working with you at our discretion if you violate these terms, behave abusively, ask us to do something illegal or unethical, or repeatedly fail to respond. If we terminate the relationship after work has begun, we’ll refund the unearned portion of your fee at our discretion.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect any changes. For material changes, we’ll notify active clients by email. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey.
